Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts Welcomes Boz Scaggs

The Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts continues its groundbreaking inaugural season under new Executive Director Denton Yockey with American singer, songwriter, and guitarist Boz Scaggs on Wednesday, November 4, 2015.
Boz Scaggs, the Grammy Award-winning vocalist, platinum-selling legend, guitarist and songwriter takes the stage on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:30 PM. Scaggs gained fame in the 1960s as a guitarist and one-time lead singer with the Steve Miller Band, and in the 1970s with several solo Top 20 hit singles in the United States. In 1976, Scaggs achieved multi-platinum success with Silk Degrees, which featured the hits “Lowdown," "Lido Shuffle,” and "What Can I Say." His popularity continues into the current decades with late-period high point albums like Some Change (1994) and Dig (2001). Boz Scaggs’ most recent album, A Fool to Care, which Q Magazine called “…some of the best music of his career. Every track is a jewel of unforced artistry in America’s R&B tradition” was released in March 2015 and reached #1 on the Billboard blues album chart.

“I’m at a point where I’m having a lot of fun with music, more than ever,” Scaggs says about his spellbinding new album, A Fool to Care. “It’s like I’m just going wherever I want to go with it.” The music legend and his band will perform a full evening of Scaggs' hits ranging from “Lowdown” and “Lido Shuffle,” to cuts from his new album, A Fool to Care.
