More Room For Cars In Downtown!

With a couple buckets of extra paint, Jefferson and Broad Streets have been quietly widened to become downtown's latest six lane one-way pair.

If extra paint to accommodate more cars, trucks and buses can be added this easy, we should be able to do the same for bicyclist and pedestrians on Jacksonville's streets.



A protected bicycle lane is something that's hard to find on Jacksonville's streets. The reconfiguration of Jefferson and Broad Street suggests that we can do the same to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety on municipally maintained streets throughout the entire city. Image courtesy of BikeJax.
