Republican Party of Duval County

Mr. Lumb:

I am writing in reference to a distasteful and disturbing show of what I would call a blatant departure from the principles and moral fiber that define our Republican party.

During last night's Republican Executive Committee meeting, which I attended with my campaign staff, one of our members, Jesse Wilson, was singled out  and publicly  ejected from  the  meeting  by Gary Dickinson. The humiliation  didn't end there.  He was accused, without  merit, of engaging in clandestine reporting  for Folio Weekly, a local newspaper. Mr. Wilson emphatically denied the accusations, but it didn't matter. Evidently simple accusations, if communicated by the right person, override due process. Folio has since confirmed that Mr. Wilson is not and has not been in their employ. Also, in case you were not aware, Mr. Wilson is a registered Republican and, until recently, a filed candidate for Jacksonville City Council.

The behavior  exhibited  last night  goes against every principle  that  we, as Republicans, profess to believe. In light of what happened last evening, I am requesting in the strongest terms that you as Chairman personally apologize to Mr. Wilson for the terrible way in which he was treated  and for his unwarranted  expulsion from the meeting. I will be happy to provide you with his contact information if you do not know how to contact him.

The management of yesterday's REC  meeting, I think  you will agree, was not  our  finest  hour. It  is behavior such as that exhibited last evening that historically has been shown to be extremely divisive and has the ability to seriously tarnish our reputation  both locally and statewide.
I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Rob Storey
Campaign Manager

_____

Jesse Wilson, he was asked to leave because the REC thought he worked for the Folio. He was there on behalf of Bill Bishop.  @jesselwilson

Gary Dickinson with Sarah Palin. He did the asking, apparently just following orders.
