Pratt Guys Shop Opening 4/25, One Spark Goal Achieved

Pratt Guys, a Jacksonville-based creator of custom backyards, will open its first retail showroom at a public open house event on April 25 at 6967 Philips Highway in Jacksonville. The grand opening comes just one year after the start of its 2014 One Spark Creator project, where the company finished as the sixth highest vote receiver out of the 610 Creators in the “world’s largest crowdfunding festival”.
The company’s One Spark Creator Project was named “Open #PrattGuysStore” with the goal of creating a multi-use facility from which the company could centralize its operations in order to run more efficiently. Owned by three brothers, the 11 year old company’s new, 9000 sq. ft. facility is called Pratt Guys Shop. It will house the company’s business offices, fabrication workshop and 2,000 sq. ft. indoor showroom for its Pratt Pergolas, outdoor kitchens, hand-formed concrete countertops, fire pits and premium outdoor appliances. Also, a 2,000 sq. ft. outdoor showroom will feature a three-tier Pratt Pergola and a fully furnished outdoor kitchen.

“Participating in One Spark allowed us to receive the visibility and increased business needed to fund our new facility, which in turn will play an important part in our ability to grow Pratt Guys,” explains Adam Pratt, a co-owner of Pratt Guys.

“I can finally say the day is here! Opening our own shop has been a dream of ours since we started in 2004,” said Derek Pratt, a co-owner and founder of Pratt Guys. “It's been quite the journey to make it this far, from working out of our parents' garage to almost closing our doors in 2008.”

During 2014, the 11-person company saw a 60% jump in sales from the previous year, a direct result of its combined exposure at One Spark and participation in the Jacksonville Home and Patio Show, where the company had major presence as a stand out Creator and business. In the three months following One Spark 2014, the company saw its three biggest sales months in its history.

For 2015, Pratt Guys have gone from being a One Spark Creator to now becoming a One Spark Sponsor. The company has built six of their signature pergolas to be placed at all six of the beer stations around One Spark. So when you see a Pratt Pergola at this year’s One Spark, you know that’s where the beer is “We are proud to build the highest quality, most uniquely designed pergolas and outdoor kitchens in the country and our favorite part is that we build them ourselves, right here in Jacksonville.” said Derek.

“Pratt Guys is all about that collaborative ecosystem in Jacksonville,” said Jason Pratt, co-owner of Pratt Guys. “From assisting non-profits on events and projects to working with other local businesses and organizations in town, we want to help build an engaged community.”

What is Pratt Guys advice for this year’s One Spark creators? “Believe in your product or service and never give up on it. One Spark has certainly been a major factor in our success and growth since last year," said Adam.

The free public open house and grand opening event will be held between noon and 9 pm on Saturday, April 25 at the new Pratt Guys Shop on Philips Highway, just one block north of Butler Boulevard. For more information, go to PrattGuys.com/shop or call 904.PERGOLA.
