Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship This Saturday
Initially launched through Metro Jacksonville in 2012, the 3rd Annual Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship to support a local charity, will be held downtown this Saturday.
WHAT: 3rd Annual Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship—Jax Truckies will partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida to co-host the 3rd Annual Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship. More than 30 food trucks will compete for the coveted 2014 People’s Choice and Judges Choice awards. The 3rd Annual Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship is a fun-filled event for the whole family featuring music, give-a-ways, a raffle and of course, lots of great food! Best of all, 100 percent of the proceeds from the raffle and a percentage of food truck sales will support the youth of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida.
Mobile eateries are one of Florida’s fastest growing businesses. Jax Truckies representative Amy O’Grady, says, “We feel that food trucks exemplify the American Dream of owning a successful business. We love what we do. Through our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida, we can share that vision with local youth and help strengthen individuals as well as the community.”
Dawn Robbins, Events Manager of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida, says she is grateful for the support of Jax Truckies, saying, “When we were notified that we were chosen as the charity beneficiary for this event we were extremely excited! We appreciate the opportunity to be a part of such a popular event that draws a wonderful crowd. This is a great way to help us continue our Centennial Celebration here in Jacksonville!”
