Jacksonville Beach Art Walk
Downtown's First Wednesday Art Walk isn't the only monthly event of its kind in our area. Today, Metro Jacksonville's Emma Cole introduces us to Jacksonville Beach's Art Walk.
Eclectic artists from the beaches area gather on the second Tuesday of every month for the opportunity to showcase their talents at The Jacksonville Beach Art Walk. The event is part of the “Tuesdays in Jax Beach” movement, aiming to make a better Jacksonville Beach. Unique native beach art can be viewed in front of local businesses in the Jax Beach entertainment district, spanning along 1st Street from Beach Blvd north to 5th Avenue North from 5pm-9pm.
The variety of art often incorporates local beach elements in it, such as stunning pendants and necklaces made of sea glass. One passionate artist’s work is strongly influenced by, and features images from, her recent trip to Cuba, and 20% of all proceeds goes towards future Cuban mission trips. There is truly something for any individual’s taste to be admired, ranging from handcrafted woodwork, to custom-made bowls, vases, and masks made from organically grown gourds, and hand spun yarns and knitted items. Psychedelic rock art could be admired outside the music venue “Freebird Live,” alongside an array of colorful local postcards. As you freely wander the area you will encounter brightly decorated and enticing tables strewn along 1st Street that advertise jewelry of all kinds, portraits, handmade accessories, lamps and even unique footwear. Rain or shine, you are sure to meet spirited artists showing off their visually astounding crafts.
Whether you are simply admiring or interested in purchasing art, the Jax Beach Art Walk is a great way to spend the afternoon immersed in the culture of Jax Beach.

The Jax Beach Art Walk showcases the talent of great local artists and the businesses in the community. Many of the participating businesses will have live music and specials throughout the art walk.
