Beaches Construction Update - January 2014 | Metro Jacksonville Archive

After a brief hiatus in 2013, Metro Jacksonville's monthly Beaches construction update is back and ramping up for 2014. Here's a look at a few new business openings and construction projects currently underway in the Jacksonville - Neptune - Atlantic Beaches area.

1. Avalon Jacksonville Beach

SH Design Homebuilders are currently building 31 single-family homes in the Avalon development. Avalon is located near the JTB/A1A interchange. According to the developers, the Avalon homes will feature “coastal modern design: “Simple, yet sophisticated, incorporating the use of cool neutral colors, bright, clean modern fixtures, expansive living areas and linear lines.”

2. Starbucks

The former KFC restuarant at 975 Third Street S is being renovated into a Starbucks.

3. McDonald's Restaurant

The demolition of the McDonald's restaurant at 51 3rd Street South continues. The old 4,855 square foot building will be replaced by a smaller 4,317 square foot McDonalds. The new building will be closer to 3rd Street and include a 130 square foot outdoor seating area.

4. BluWater Row Apartments

TriBridge Residential is constructing a 170-unit luxury apartment complex called BluWater Row at 711 Beach Boulevard.

5. 730 Beach Boulevard

Paradise Valley Enterprises LLC is wrapping up construction on a 10,000-square-foot retail development at 730 Beach Boulevard.

6. 102 6th Avenue N

This 17,000 square foot retail center on the corner of 1st Street North and 6th Avenue North has recently been reconstructed. Delicomb Delicatessen & Espresso Bar will become one of the center's first tenants.

7. 814 1st Street North

18 residential condominiums are being built at 814 1st Street North.

8. The Cottages at Jax Beach

Six beach-style single family homes ranging from 2,800 to 3,300 square feet are being built on 1st Street North, between 10th and 9th Avenue North.

9. Black Hive Athletics

Black Hive Athletics recently opened at 705 3rd Street North. Black Hive Athletics has a “strength and endurance-based” approach to fitness training that people from all ages and fitness levels can participate in.

10. Town Center Restaurant/Retail/Office

Southcoast Beaches, LLC. is constructing restaurant, retail and office space at 241 Atlantic Boulevard In the Beaches Town Center.

11. 763 Atlantic Boulevard

This retail plaza at the intersection of Penman Road and Atlantic Boulevard in Atlantic Beach has recently been renovated.
