Food Fun(d) at Jacksonville Landing This Tuesday
Food Fun(d) combines food, music and crowdsourcing to help fund new Jacksonville-based ideas. After a successful inaugural event in August, Food Fun(d) has teamed up with One Spark and returns to downtown Jacksonville to help fund a Jacksonville-based idea. Food Fun(d) will take place December 9th from 5:00pm – 9:00pm at the Jacksonville Landing.
The format is simple: attendees pay $1 admission for access to gourmet food trucks, live music from Jonnie Morgan Band and a beer garden. Six Creators will pitch an idea from categories that include Art, Education, Music, Health & Science, Social Good and Technology. Attendees vote on their favorite idea and the winner as decided by public vote is awarded a pot of money that includes the total cost of admission receipts plus up to a $500 match from One Spark.
Food Fun(d) was started by the creators of Jax Truckies, Northeast Florida’s leading resource for food trucks, and Jaxsons Night Market, a new monthly night market in downtown Jacksonville featuring local farmers and artisan small businesses.
The first Food Fun(d) winner in August, Vagabond Coffee, used their winnings to help open a mobile coffee barista in downtown Jacksonville that will soon be expanding into a brick and mortar location. “The impact on Vagabond Coffee was massive,” said Will Morgan of Vagabond Coffee, on winning the first Food Fun(d). “It helped to establish a relationship with The Barnett, where we will be opening our flagship location. I am so grateful for the exposure and doors that were opened from being involved with Food Fun(d)."
