Anti-Food Truck Legislation Moving Forward?

According to Councilman Reginald Brown, this legislation was drafted to provide regulation of food trucks; and equally promote the economic growth of both the Mobile Food Vending and established restaurant industries without a negative financial impact to the other. However, will it do this? Take a look for yourself and decide.
Sponsored by Councilman Reginald Brown, Ordinance 2014-0472 was quietly introduced on July 22, 2014. The drafted legislation for the Food Truck ordinance went before the City Council's Rules Committee on Monday, August 18th. Today, it will go before the Council's Finance Committee at 9:00am and will be discussed at the Rec. public health and safety meeting at 2:00pm. All council committee meetings are being held in the council chambers. Is this legislation really needed or are our leader's priorities in the wrong place?
