Beaches Construction Update - April 2014

Here's an update on a few new business openings and construction projects currently underway in the Jacksonville - Neptune - Atlantic Beaches area.

1. Trader Joe's



Northeast Florida's first Trader Joe's is under construction in a 12,500-square foot space in the South Beach Regional Shopping Center. The specialty grocery store will carry an extensive array of domestic and imported foods and beverages including fresh baked artisan breads, Arabica bean coffees, international frozen entrées, 100% juices, fresh crop nuts, deli items, and vitamins and supplements, as well as the basics, like milk and eggs. The store is expected to open in late 2014.








2. Bold Bean Coffee Roasters



Riverside's Bold Bean Coffee Roasters will soon open a second location at 2400 Third Street South in Jacksonville Beach. The space is expected to open in May.

3. 2nd South Ocean



Construction is underway on 2nd South Ocean at 116 Second Avenue South. When complete the project will add 22 two bedroom/two bathroom apartments to the Jacksonville Beach landscape.






4. BluWater Row Apartments



TriBridge Residential is constructing a 170-unit luxury apartment complex called BluWater Row at 711 Beach Boulevard. The end product at BluWater will feature a pool, leasing center, parking garage and a rooftop deck.

5. Channelside Townhomes



SH Design Homebuilders, based in Jacksonville Beach, is building 30 townhomes with boat slips on the former Lighthouse Grille site — which is south of Beach Boulevard on Hopson Road, on the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway.

6. 228 3rd Avenue North



A commercial building is under construction at the intersection of 3rd Avenue North and Second Street North.





7. Graffiti Junktion



Graffiti Junktion, an Orlando 'gourmet craft burger' restaurant has signed a lease to open its first North Florida restaurant at 265 Fifth Avenue. The 160-seat restaurant is anticipated to be open before May 2014.

8.  102 6th Avenue North



This 17,000 square foot retail center on the corner of 1st Street North and 6th Avenue North has recently been reconstructed. Delicomb Delicatessen & Espresso Bar and Ananda Kula, a yoga and holistic healing studio are new tenants.

9. 814 1st Street North



18 residential condominiums are being built at 814 1st Street North.








10. Sea Chasers Restaurant



Sea Chasers Restaurant is under construction at 831 First Street North in Jacksonville Beach.




11. The Cottages at Jax Beach



Six beach-style single family homes ranging from 2,800 to 3,300 square feet are being built on 1st Street North, between  10th and 9th Avenue North.

12. 107 14th Avenue North





Townhomes are being constructed at the intersection of 14th Avenue North and First Street North.



13. Town Center Restaurant/Retail/Office



Southcoast Beaches, LLC. is constructing a new mixed-use structure at 241 Atlantic Boulevard, in the Beaches Town Center. While the location anticipates restaurants, retail stores, and office space, no obvious business has been established yet.





14. 913 Second Street South

913 2nd Street South will be a new 22 unit apartment complex when complete.







15. First Baptist Church

Reconstruction work is underway on the campus of First Baptist Church at the intersection of North 6th Street and 2nd Avenue North.
