Mackenzie Thorpe at Avondale Artworks During October!

Jacksonville, FL (July, 2013) – An impressive collection by famed artist and philanthropist Mackenzie Thorpe, global superstar and one of Britain's most collected and best-loved artists will be on exhibition and available for acquisition at Avondale Artworks Art Gallery in Jacksonville, Florida.

About the Artist

Mackenzie Thorpe's Art is amongst the most sought after in the UK today. His reputation as an artist continues to grow worldwide on an unprecedented scale. He is an ordinary individual, who has, through his art, the extraordinary ability to convey emotions and messages that speak a universal language.

It is truly a rare talent for a man from unlikely working class beginnings to have used the equally unlikely medium of art to successfully communicate across the barriers of age, class, gender and race - yet that is what Mackenzie Thorpe does.

This past summer the Artist was awarded a commission to create a piece to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee; the highest honor for an Artist in the UK.

His work expresses the entire range of human emotions, feelings from love, life and laughter, to struggle and adversity, challenge and innocence. Through his unique works, this artist has risen from the people, to draw for the people. An artist whose own life tells us that old frail dreams can become goals that are worth nurturing and working towards, that love and honesty can and will triumph over adversity.

The Artist

Mackenzie Thorpe continues to tour the world exhibiting his artworks and continuing his message; Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and now back in the United States for a multi-city tour kicking off in Jacksonville.   His artwork is a journal of his own life; yet so many lessons and truths are the same worldwide.

Mackenzie Thorpe has dedicated a portion of his life to helping children and young adults; the Artist maintains a foundation "No One To Catch Me", an organization that encourages and supports young people who are working towards a specific goal by developing their creative skills, and who are coping with disadvantage.  Mr. Thorpe has made this part of this life's work.  And his artwork reflects this journey: for the very essence of Mackenzie's art reflects life's journey and its emotions.

This magnificent exhibition is not to be missed, and the opportunity for the people of Jacksonville and its environs to meet Mackenzie Thorpe and to become collectors of the finest and highly-curated collection of his work is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The exhibition features original works, mixed media, etchings, scultptures, bronzes, lithographs and serigraphs.
