City Files Foreclosure Suit on Bostwick Building

The City of Jacksonville has just filed suit against the owners of the historic Bostwick Building to foreclose on the City’s code enforcement lien on that property. Here is a copy of the Verified Complaint.
Over the last few months, the City of Jacksonville has been trying to help facilitate a resolution to the issues surrounding the historic Bostwick Building in Downtown Jacksonville. As a historic structure that sits at one of the entrances to Downtown, the Bostwick Building is very significant as our community works to revitalize Jacksonville’s city center.
 
Last night, City Council voted overwhelmingly to designate the Bostwick Building as a historic landmark, and to deny the Bostwick Building owners the permission they sought to demolish the building.
 
Earlier this afternoon, the City of Jacksonville filed suit against the owners of the Bostwick Building to foreclose on the City’s code enforcement lien on that property.
