Chase Bank Coming to Downtown
JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s plans to open a downtown storefront and its associated facade improvements could boost the walkability of Laura Street.
Since early 2013, Chase has aggressively established retail branches throughout Jacksonville and now the financial institution has their sights on downtown Jacksonville. The latest Chase branch would occupy the ground level of the Life of the South Building at the corner of Bay and Laura Streets.
Embracing the concept of better integrating the ground floors of existing buildings with adjacent sidewalks, the project's architect, Tampa-based bdg Architects, plans to add awnings and a corner entrance facing the high profile downtown intersection.
The conceptual approval of this project by the Downtown Development Review Board (DDRB) will be discussed at its regularly scheduled meeting at 2pm Thursday.
