Truckin' On The River with Jax Truckies this Weekend
This Saturday, July 27, 2013, The Jacksonville Landing and Jax Truckies will come together to host downtown's next food truck rally on the Northbank Riverwalk. If successful, Truckin' On The River could become a recurring monthly food truck event at the Jacksonville Landing.
The Jacksonville Landing and the Jax Truckies come together to host the first-ever Truckin’ on the River food truck rally on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot of The Jacksonville
Landing. This event will feature more than a dozen local Food Trucks, as well as live music, drawings, giveaways and much more.
Participating trucks include: All That Jazz, Beke's Grab N Go, Bruccis Pizza, Corner Taco, Cubarico Café, Driftwood BBQ, The Happy Grilled Cheese, Kona Ice, Monroes On The Go, Mother Fletchers, The Salty Fig, Scrappy's Mobile Kitchen and Super Food Truck.
After enjoying a taste of the Food Trucks, eventgoers will pick a “People’s Choice” winner to be announced at the end of the evening.
All of the participating Food Trucks will be donating a portion of their proceeds to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to benefit the pediatric units at Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Shands Jacksonville. Admission is free. Limited parking will be available at The Jacksonville Landing for $5 and parking meters along the streets of Downtown are free.
If successful, Mike Field of Jax Truckies hopes to establish a recurring monthly food truck event at the Jacksonville Landing. "We’re really excited to partner with another great downtown destination to demonstrate how food trucks can contribute to making downtown a destination while raising much needed money for a worthy charitable cause."
