A brief look at the status of various projects under construction in and around Downtown Jacksonville during the month of June 2012.
DOWNTOWN

Court Yard Cafe


Tenant buildout of the the Court Yard Cafe continues in the Courthouse parking garage at Adams and Pearl Streets.






Robert Shafer & Associates, P.A.

Tenant buildout of Robert Shafer & Associates, P.A. in the Courthouse parking garage is now underway.






Adams Street Streetscaping

A small streetscaping project is underway on Adams Street in the vicinity of the new county courthouse.




Duval County Courthouse

Work still remains on the conversion of the old US Post Office into the State Attorney's Office.




7-Eleven - Julia & Forsyth

Interior buildout continues at the BB&T parking garage.






7-Eleven - Union & Main

Construction is continues.








Nature's Table at Everbank Center (second floor)

Work is underway on the signage for Everbank Center and a new restaurant in the tower.



Nature's Table Cafe will operate and manage the refurbished restaurant and cafe space on the second floor of Everbank Center.  The $1 million project is projected to open in September 2012.  According to Dick Larsen, President and Founder of the 75-restaurant chain, "In over 35 years of doing business, I have never been more exicited about a project than this one with Everbank Center."

Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches

Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches is now open.  The "before" and "after" below.



Derby on Park

Sushi Cafe

Work on the new Sushi Cafe location in Riverside Square continues.  When complete, work will start on the transformation of Sushi Cafe's current location into a Tijuana Flats Burrito Company.




The Salty-Fig Southern Gastropub

The Salty Fig, A Southern Gastropub is expected to open at 901 King Street in September 2012.  According to the lastest edition of Arbus Magazine, the plan is to combine several vacant spaces in the 80-year old former Pic 'N' Save building into a restaurant featuring a bar, dining area and outdoor sidewalk seating.




Dahlia's Pour House

Dahlia's Pour House, at Post & King Streets, is expected to open later this month.  Dahlia's was recently granted an exception that will allow them to open in this historic Riverside commercial storefront.




Goozlepipe & Guttyworks

Site demolition is underway in preparing of a new restaurant adjacent to King Street's Kickback's Gastropub.






Pulp Juice Bar

Pulp is still in the process of moving forward with opening their second urban Jacksonville location at the Shops of Avondale.

SPRINGFIELD

Kool Beans Cafe


Sam Jackson, former owner of Moe's (location of Shanty Town Pub), continues to work on his latest venue, The Buzz.  This project will be a bistro serving early morning coffee and breakfast, as well as dinner.






Julia's Urban Grocery

This building at 5th & Main Streets will be renovated into an organic grocery market.  Interior demolition is underway.

Forever 21 Hair & Nails - 1445 North Main Street

Last month, Mode Noir Boutique was the first tenant to open in this historic building.  Now a second tenant has opened in the building.




Ardy's Eatable Delyghts

Ardy's Eatable Delyghts will soon occupy the former Jerome Brown BBQ resturant space at 9th & Main Streets.

San Marco Station


This Hendricks Avenue development will be anchored by a Panera Bread and Boost Mobile.




San Marco Boulevard Streetscape

The third phase of the San Marco Boulevard Streetscape project, between Laverne Street and San Marco Square, is underway.

San Marco Square's Take Away Gourmet will be converted into the area's second M Shack.

Jersey Mike's

Jersey Mike's Subs plans to open a restaurant at 1615 Hendricks Ave., in 1,400-square-feet of unoccupied space next to Hurricane Grill & Wings. Jersey Mike's is known for its East Coast-style subs, featuring meats and cheese sliced to order.
