Museums on Us
Saturday, July 7 - Sunday, July 8, 2012
In conjunction with Miradas: Ancient Roots in Modern and Contemporary Mexican Art: Works from the Bank of America Collection, The Cummer will participate in the Museum on Us® program, which allows free general admission to the Museum on the first full weekend of every month to all Bank of America or Merrill Lynch card holders. Beginning Saturday, June 2, 2012 and ending Sunday, December 2, 2012.
Offer valid the first full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) of the month. Photo ID and any Bank of America/Merrill Lynch credit or debit card must be presented. One free admission limited to cardholder.
Fourth of July Concert in the Gardens
Wednesday, July 4, 7 to 10 p.m.
Put on your red, white and blue, grab a blanket or chair, and come celebrate America's 236th Birthday in The Cummer Gardens! With the St. John's River as a backdrop and shining stars above, the sounds of The RiverTown Band will keep you entertained.
Traditional Fourth of July fare along with beer and wine will be available for purchase, but you are welcome to pack a picnic. Doors open at 6 p.m. so come early to stake out your spot. Then take a trip inside to view a few patriotic works of art before enjoying an amazing Fourth of July Concert at The Cummer.
Tickets: Members $10 and Non-members $20
Tables with reserved seating and gourmet picnic basket for 10 people are available for $400

Please note: Fireworks will be presented on the St. Johns River by the City of Jacksonville and the view from the Gardens is obstructed. The concert will be held rain or shine, so refunds will not be available.

Tequila & Tamale Tasting
Wednesday, July 25, 2012, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Join us for a sultry evening of Tequila, Tamales and live music in The Cummer Gardens. Three zesty Mexican antojitos (appetizers), inspired by three works of art from Miradas: Ancient Roots in Modern and Contemporary Mexican Art: Works from the Bank of America Collection will be paired with three tempting libations for you to enjoy. Don't miss what promises to be an evening of spicy hot fun for amigos new and old. Available to guests 21 and older.
Talks and Tea

50 Forward: New Acquisitions to the Permanent Collection
Talks and Tea Lecture Series invites you to sit comfortably in the Galleries and Gardens of The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens while Art Historians, Artists, and other experts facilitate informational and educational discussions on various topics related to the Museums permanent collection, as well as special exhibitions. At the conclusion of each talk, tea and light refreshments will be served for the social hour.

Camp Cummer
Seven One Week Sessions: June 11 through July 27
Summer is here and it is time for Camp Cummer. This year, due to popular demand, we are extending our elementary camps for rising 1st through rising 6th graders to seven one-week sessions from June 11 through July 27. There will be two different curricula, making it possible for students to spend two weeks at The Cummer. Camp days are from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with before and after care available. Join us for an exciting adventure involving printmaking, clay building, painting, drawing, exploring The Cummer Gardens and interactive learning in the galleries. Whether your children are new to art-making or have more experience, our one-week camps are perfect for their budding imaginations.

Middle School Summer Camp
Monday, July 30 Friday, August 3, 2012
Middle school students can enjoy their own week of Camp. Inspired by masterworks in the galleries and the historic Cummer Gardens, rising 6th through 9th graders will paint, draw, print and sculpt age-appropriate projects for students looking to advance their skills outside of school with an opportunity to build a portfolio.

Drop-In Art
Tuesdays, 5 to 6 p.m.
Each week children ages 4 to 10 will have the opportunity to explore the galleries or gardens and experiment with a different art process.
No pre-registration. Please arrive early as class size is limited.

Art for Two & Art Adventures
In July our childrens classes will be celebrating our newest acquisitions, showcased in the exhibit 50 Forward: New Acquisitions to the Permanent Collection, which runs through July 31st. There will be a particular focus on our new collection of Andy Warhol silk screens. In each class the children will be using a block printing method to create their very own modern masterpiece.
Art for Two July 14th - 10:30am -12:00pm Ages 3-5

Art Adventures July 21st - 10:30am -12:30pm Ages 6-12
