Improving River Access: RAM Docking Facility Opens

About the Riverside Arts Market Docking Facility
The new 200-foot long L-shaped floating dock with a 40-foot long gangway attached, adjacent to the northern approach to the Fuller Warren Bridge, will be open for boaters wishing to access the Riverside Arts Market and the Northbank Riverwalk from the St. Johns River. LPS has been an instrumental partner in the construction of the dock. The $395,000 project was funded by the JEDC’s Northbank Tax Increment fund.
City staff worked with state and federal permitting agencies to create an educational kiosk on the Florida manatee, sea turtles, endangered North Atlantic Right Whale and other aquatic life to help educate boaters and minimize their impact on these creatures. This kiosk is located near the floating dock and RAM on the Northbank Riverwalk.
The permitting process will soon be underway with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to allow the S.S. Marine Water Taxi use of this new dock as one of their regular taxi stops
