RAP Hosts District 14 Candidate Forum
Much of the focus in local politics right now is on the mayor's race, with Mike Hogan, Rick Mullaney and Audrey Moran (among others) trying to win the opportunity to follow John Peyton as mayor. However, also being contested on March 22nd are many city council races, and District 14 is one of the largest fields with six candidates running for the seat. On Thursday, February 3rd, the six candidates will participate in a public forum, hosted by Riverside Avondale Preservation at the Cummer Museum
About the District
District 14 emcompases most of Riverside, Avondale, Murray Hill, Ortega, Argyle and Oakleaf.
When and Where
The forum is on Thursday, February 3rd at 6PM. It will take place at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, 829 Riverside Avenue. All are welcome.
Current Councilmember
Michael Corrigan will end his second term on the city council at the end of June, and cannot run again due to term limits.

Jill has lived in Jacksonville since 1959. She attended local public schools through junior high and is a graduate of Episcopal High School. Jill earned a B.A. with honors from Queens College in Charlotte, NC, and a J.D., also with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law.
Jill returned to Jacksonville after law school graduation and began her legal career with Mahoney Hadlow & Adams, specializing in real estate and commercial lending law, eventually becoming a partner. Jill left the practice of corporate law to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching at Jacksonville University while teaching in an independent school.
Most recently, Jill has served as a consultant and interim executive for nonprofit organizations, focusing on organizational development, fundraising, and strategic planning. Her work has benefited thousands of people. She has helped organizations become fiscally responsible and efficient. She raised millions of dollars, convinced many to give, and reached countless others in need.
Jill has lived in District 14 for over 25 years. She and her husband Peter are proud parents of twin daughters, Darby and Brooks.

Jim Love

Jim Love grew up in a military family and learned from a young age the value of public service.
Love attended Auburn University on an NROTC scholarship. From there he worked his way up in the United States Navy from flight school to Mediterranean Sea deployments, all the way to the rank of captain in the Naval Reserve. Love has been a member of the Naval Reserve Association and the Association of Naval Aviation since 1984. He has also received Commanding Officer awards and a Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding service to the Naval Reserve.
Love, a Republican, has a strong history of commitment to his community and country. He was a founding member of the Park and King Association and also served as its president and vice president. The group affected improvements such as brick sidewalks and proper drainage, which led to more businesses and jobs moving to the area. Love is also a member of Riverside Avondale Preservation (RAP), the Downtown Council of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and the Meninak Club of Jacksonville.
Love is also a successful businessman with 26 years of experience. In 1983, he started his own State Farm Insurance Agency in the historic district of Riverside. Through hard work, he grew his business and now insures more than 2,500 households.
Love is married to Robin Carter Love and they have three sons; Jimmy, Jason and Jonathan
Henry Mooneyham

Henry Mooneyhan was born at St. Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL on December 2, 1948. The fourth of five boys, he was raised in the Springfield area and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1966. After high school he attended Florida Junior College and Central Florida Community College. In 1972 he married the former Katherine Williamson of Jacksonville and they have four children and four grandchildren. Henry and Kathy are members of Lake Shore United Methodist Church where he has served as Lay Leader, Administrative Board Chairman, Council on Ministries Chairman, and was a Delegate to the Florida Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church
Greg “Hollea” Rachal

Greg “Hollea” Rachal has lived in Jacksonville, Florida since 1990 and is originally from a small town in Louisiana. He arrived in Jacksonville after serving in the U.S. Air force and lives on the Westside.
Greg is married and has two sons and a daughter who lives in Georgia with her family. He and his wife have lived in North Florida for over twenty years and during that time both have been devoted to community service. Greg and his family attend St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Riverside.
Greg just recently completed a term as the District Commissioner for the North Florida Council Boy Scouts of America. During that time, he was instrumental in assisting the organization in achieving three years of Quality District Awards and the coveted Prime Osborne Award. He is an Arrow man of the Oglala Chapter, North Florida Council Order of the Arrow.
He is an active participate with the Southwest Citizens Planning Advisory Committee (CPAC), Sheriff Advisory Council (SHADCO), Westside Business Leaders, Regional Community Institute, Joseph E. Lee Republican Club, Duval County Executive Republican Club, St. Paul’s Holy Men Society and the Knights of Columbus.
Greg currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and he is 2008 graduate of the Northeast Florida Regional Council Leadership Academy.
